THIS IS
PROJECTIONS
PROJECTIONS is a unique platform dedicated to the presentation and discussion of photographic work in a live, community -driven setting. Over the past eight years, more than 400 photographers including emerging talents, established artists, and internationally recognized photojournalists have taken the stage to share their projects, perspectives, and creative journeys.
Created to foster meaningful dialogue between photographers and the public, PROJECTIONS is more than a showcase. It is a space where ideas are exchanged, narratives are unpacked, and the visual medium is celebrated for its power to document, question, and connect. Each event offers a curated selection of voices from around the globe, exploring themes such as social justice, climate change, identity, memory, and the nuances of everyday life.
Among the stories shared are urgent visual accounts from the front lines of history — including photographic evidence of international war crimes in Ukraine, powerful documentation of displacement and resistance, and firsthand portrayals of communities under siege. These images not only bear witness but demand accountability, underscoring the essential role of photographers in preserving truth and confronting global injustice.
By inviting photographers to speak directly about their process and purpose, PROJECTIONS builds bridges between image-makers and audiences, breaking down the barriers that often separate art from understanding. It is a vital forum that honors photography not just as a creative form, but as a powerful tool for truth, empathy, and civic engagement in an increasingly complex world.

SPECIAL
Deep Dives into the Urgent Issues of Our Time
From time to time, the world demands our undivided attention. Whether it's the reversal of Roe v. Wade, the epidemic of gun violence in America, the far-reaching effects of COVID-19, or the brutal war between Ukraine and Russia, some events are simply too significant to address with a single post or presentation.
That’s why we created PROJECTIONS Special Edition.
These are weeklong programs, each comprising 5 to 8 focused presentations on one critical subject. They allow us to go deeper, offering layered perspectives through the eyes of photojournalists, artists, and storytellers on the front lines.
To date we’ve curated more than 70 presentations documenting the war in Ukraine, many of them exposing the realities of war crimes and the human cost of conflict. Our special editions have also included a special nights featuring numerous White House photographers, a few are Pulitzer Prize winners, providing an unparalleled glimpse into the highest echelons of visual storytelling.
Subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when a new Special Edition goes live. Our goal is to provide unfiltered, visual journalism—so you can witness the truth for yourself and form your own informed understanding of the world around you.
